Our infant and toddler program is thoughtfully designed to meet each child’s needs while supporting smooth transitions, healthy routines, and open communication with families.
We understand how emotional the first steps into daycare can be. To make this process as gentle as possible, we begin with short visits and gradually increase the length of stay so that children can adjust smoothly and confidently to their new environment. Our educators work closely with parents throughout this process, maintaining consistent communication and routines that help each child feel secure and cared for.
Our teachers collaborate with families to encourage toilet-training routines that are consistent between home and daycare. We use plenty of encouragement to help each child succeed and build independence when the time comes.
Our open-wall design allows staff to stay connected across classrooms. If an infant teacher needs an extra hand during diaper changes, preparing children for outdoor play, or helping with transitions, another educator is always nearby and ready to assist.
We provide a calm and comfortable nap environment that helps each child rest, whether they prefer a long or short nap. Children who are not sleeping can enjoy quiet activities in a separate classroom, allowing others to rest undisturbed. This setup eliminates the need for children to remain on their beds waiting for nap time to end or for others to wake up, helping everyone feel more comfortable and engaged throughout the day.
We don’t skip outdoor time—children get plenty of it every day, ensuring they stay active, healthy, and happy. Infants enjoy stroller walks, and once they begin walking confidently, they transition to using our backyard playground, which features a slide, toy houses, sandboxes, and more.
As children grow and develop new abilities, our educators carefully support their move from the infant to the toddler program. Children begin with short visits to the toddler room, and the time is gradually increased so they can adjust smoothly to new surroundings, friends, and activities. This approach makes the transition natural, exciting, and stress-free.
Educators are always available to chat during drop-off and pick-up times, share updates and achievements. We also maintain a daycare app chat for parents and respond quickly to emails and phone calls.
To ensure every child is meeting important milestones, we use scientifically standardized developmental screening tools appropriate for each age group—such as the Nipissing District Developmental Screen (NDDS). We provide families with copies of the questionnaires that correspond to their child’s age and later combine the results gathered at home and at the center. These results are then discussed during parent–teacher meetings to ensure a complete understanding of each child’s development.
We regularly invite parents to meet with their child’s educators to discuss progress, share insights, and set goals together. These meetings are typically organized annually, but can also be scheduled upon request at any time throughout the year. They provide an opportunity for families to give feedback, ask questions, and raise any concerns. This helps us stay connected with families and ensures that every child’s growth and development are supported from all sides.
The Infants & Toddlers program operates Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
